Experience the thrill of andaman fishing while exploring the unique landscapes and ecosystems of Volcano Island. Join us for the best andaman fishing adventures!
Volcano Island, incredible and invisible banks are some of the isolated spots we really love to fish. This remote destination offers some of the most exclusive fishing trips for anglers seeking some more than fishing.
Far from commercial routes, the combination of deep water close to structure and constant current movement makes this area uniquely productive for serious offshore anglers.
The Andaman waters stand out as one of the world’s top locations for popping and jigging. Unlike heavily pressured fisheries, our spots remains wild and lightly fished, allowing anglers to experience true offshore adventure.
Reaching that reefs takes two hours by boat. Once there, the fishing experience is extraordinary — explosive surface strikes while popping and deep, powerful runs while jigging.
If your are looking for remote waters, wild fish, and unforgettable moments in one of the most unique marine environments on earth, that´s your expedition.
The waters surrounding Barren Island and the remote reef banks we fish hold some of the most powerful and aggressive species in the Indian Ocean. Andaman fishing is defined by strength, depth and unpredictability — every strike can change the day in seconds. This destination is a true gem for serious anglers, offering exceptional opportunities to target Giant Trevally (GT), dogtooth tuna, Napoleon wrasse and other tropical predators.
From my experience, it is one of the best locations for popping GT in terms of surface activity and consistency. GT patrol the reef edges, delivering explosive surface strikes that make Andaman fishing both visual and intense.
The expedition is primarily focused on popping, as surface activity is often very strong. Average GT range between 7–20 kg, but every session carries the possibility of “the strike of the day.” A solid GT in the Andamans typically weighs between 20–30 kg, while exceptional fish can reach around 40 kg — considered the upper size class for this area.
When conditions allows, jigging for dogtooth tuna dominate the deeper offshore structures. Working heavy jigs over volcanic banks at depths between 50 and 100 meters requires precision and technical control. We typically use jigs around 200g to effectively target these deep-water predators.
This Andaman fishing expedition is crafted for anglers who seek serious offshore experiences in remote waters. It is an exceptional destination for those pursuing their first Giant Trevally, offering consistent surface activity and real opportunities to connect with powerful fish in a truly wild environment.
At the same time, seasoned anglers who value repetition, technical precision and sustained action will find this location deeply rewarding. The balance between structure, fish density and surface aggression creates the kind of intensity that experienced GT anglers appreciate.
Operating nearly two hours offshore ensures minimal fishing pressure. These reefs remain lightly touched, the fish uneducated, and GT surface activity naturally strong. This rare combination of accessibility and authenticity makes Andaman fishing both an ideal introduction to serious popping and a premium playground for dedicated offshore anglers.
The prime season for Andaman fishing runs from October to December and from February to April, when sea conditions allow safe access to the outer reefs. During these months, offshore navigation is more stable and long-range runs can be planned with greater consistency.
The summer period brings monsoon winds and heavy rainfall, making it unsuitable for serious offshore fishing. For this reason, expeditions are scheduled only within the productive windows. Within those months, we carefully select the best tidal movements and aim for the calmest weather periods to maximize both fishing performance and access to distant volcanic banks.
At Sparidae, our expeditions are built around respect — for the fish, for the environment, and for the communities that make these remote destinations possible.
The Andaman region remains lightly pressured compared to many global fisheries, and preserving that condition is part of our responsibility. We operate with a sustainable mindset, prioritizing responsible fishing practices and minimizing our impact on fragile reef ecosystems.
Catch and release is strongly encouraged for key species such as Giant Trevally and dogtooth tuna. We promote proper handling techniques to ensure fish are released in healthy condition whenever possible. The goal is not only to experience the strike, but to protect the future of these fisheries.
We are also transparent with our clients. Offshore fishing in wild environments carries variables — weather, currents, fish movement. We never promise unrealistic results. What we guarantee is effort, preparation, and honest communication. These waters are authentic, and that authenticity is exactly what makes them special.
