abril 29, 2025Fishing Under an Active Volcano: The Volcano Island Experience.
For years, a good friend kept telling me about one place: Volcano Island.
He described it as a remote, wild, and beautiful destination, with fishing that bordered on the unreal.
Big fish at the foot of a volcano, where the depths just 10 meters from the shore reach around 70 meters. Finally, in 2025, we decided to see it for ourselves.
And he wasn’t exaggerating.
Long Journeys, Hours of Fishing Equal Great Rewards.
Unforgettable Captures:
The navigations aren’t short, and the fishing days can be exhausting.
But there’s something magical about that routine: waking up early, sailing for hours, casting over and over, and suddenly... the water explodes, and the battle begins.
Every day is a perfect blend of effort, excitement, and respect for the environment.
This isn’t just a leisure trip—it’s a true expedition.
Six days of fishing, with four long-haul journeys.
We will remember many catches from that trip, but to sum it up:
An incredible sailfish, probably a world record for popping (it was released, so we’ll never know for sure, but I’ve never seen one reported that size).
Two GTs over 40 kg and 5-6 over 30 kg... An absolute madness.
And then, there was that day—just three hours of fishing, and we managed to land 21 GTs.
It was something absolutely colossal. EPIC.
At the End of the Day... Total Calm.
