KENYA GT FISHING MARCH 2026 —
LAMU ISLAND GROUP I
One client came to Lamu with a dream: a big grouper. What he found was a week that gave him far more than he had asked for — three GTs above 20kg in a single session, a 40kg personal best and, on the last day, the trophy he had been chasing all along.
Lamu Island, Kenya — March 2026 · Sparidae Fishing Expeditions · Group I
The main goal of this Kenya GT fishing March 2026 expedition was clear from day one: a big grouper. A proper one — the kind that lives deep, pulls hard and does not come up easily. We committed fully to making it happen, dedicating significant time to the structure, the depths and the techniques that give you the best chance in Lamu.
What the Lamu Island fishing group 2026 found along the way was exceptional. GT sessions of genuine quality, varied species across different depths, and a group that fished with enthusiasm and precision from the first morning to the last cast.

Kenya GT Fishing March 2026 — Day One & A 40kg Personal Best
The first full day of Kenya popping March 2026 set the tone for the entire week. On the first run of the session, a friend in the group connected with a GT of 30 to 35 kilograms on a popper — a result that would have been the highlight of most weeks. Later that same day, his wife landed her own GT above 20 kilograms, earned completely on her own.
And before the session closed, a third GT came to the surface: close to 40 kilograms, the personal best of the trip and one of the finest fish Lamu has produced for a Sparidae group. Three GTs above 20kg in a single day — that is what Kenya GT fishing March 2026 looks like when the conditions and the fish align.
"Three GTs above 20kg in one session. The wife's fish, the friend's fish and the 40kg personal best — all on the same day, all on poppers, all on the same stretch of Lamu coastline."

The Rest of the Week — Lamu Island GT Expedition 2026 in Full
This Lamu Island GT expedition 2026 was not just about the headline days. The sessions that followed worked the structure methodically — popping on the banks when the GT showed, jigging deep when the grouper sessions began. Grey grouper, brown grouper, trevally of several species, and a consistent variety of offshore fish kept every angler engaged.
The operation throughout was exactly what this group needed. The captain read the tides and adjusted the programme daily. The 40-foot boat gave the range to move quickly between spots. And when the sessions ended, the group returned to accommodation and dining that matched the quality of the fishing.

Kenya Spot Grouper Fishing Trophy — The Last Day
The final day delivered what the whole week had been building towards. Deep on the structure, on the jig, the main client connected with a Kenya spot grouper fishing trophy fish — between 15 and 20 kilograms, an exceptional result for the species. A spot grouper of this size is a result that most anglers never achieve in years of trying.
This group achieved it on the last morning of the expedition, after a week of consistent, focused effort. Every member left Lamu with results they had not expected — and with the certainty that this destination, run with the right operation, delivers at a level that very few places in the world can match.
