Tunas, wahoos, roosterfish... the perfect mix.
Returning to Panama is always the right choice. It's the fishing destination I know best—this was my seventh time there. Each trip just keeps getting better, and I keep learning more about the behavior and preferences of the fish. The fishing is consistently amazing, and the conditions during the season remained ideal. To our surprise, the tunas were still around and, most importantly, active.
Without a doubt, they became the stars of the trip. We dedicated three full days to them, and the reward was generous: more than 30 catches per day. Although they weren't giants, weighing between 5 and 15 kilos, their power and speed made the fun absolutely guaranteed. Tuna is one of those species that never disappoints when you're after non-stop action and thrilling battles.
If you're passionate about big game fishing and constant excitement, Panama is the ultimate destination.
There was one fishing day we won't easily forget. We came across a good group of wahoos, but as is often the case with them, the excitement was bittersweet: we lost six to clean line cuts, thanks to their razor-sharp, saw-like teeth.
But perseverance paid off in the end, and we finally managed to land a spectacular one, estimated at 20-25 kilos. The fight was intense, making the reels scream and everyone cheer with joy. It was one of those unforgettable fishing moments where effort meets reward, and the thrill lingers long after the catch."
