Fishing in Rodrigues Island is a year-round adventure. The GTs (Giant Trevallies) are constantly moving around the island and the lagoon, making it an exciting destination for anglers.
During the windy months, known as our 'summer', conditions become rough with strong winds and challenging seas. However, this is precisely when the biggest GTs can be caught on the reef. The combination of powerful fish and extreme weather makes for an adrenaline-filled fishing experience.

It’s true that the best months to plan a guaranteed fishing trip are October-November and February-March.
Sea conditions and tides will guide us on which fishing technique to use. On calm seas with light winds, we target dogtooth tuna (doggies) using jigging techniques. When big tides and waves come into play, it's time to chase the giant GTs on the reef.
